Cochise County Arizona Centennial Committee

Home

Working on the assumption that Cochise County history reflects Arizona’s history in microcosm, the Cochise County Arizona Centennial Committee has created a countywide celebration of our shared heritage to include:

1. a travelling exhibit: Cochise County History on the Move

Cochise County History on the Move is an outdoor, travelling exhibit comprising 33 life-size photo cutouts based on historic images from our County’s museums & archives. The exhibit will travel to schools, libraries, public parks, indoor and outdoor community festivals throughout the centennial year. This exhibit celebrates important figures in Cochise County history who influenced the history of the Arizona Territory and the State of Arizona through the 20th and early 21st centuries.

2. an informative booklet: Come Face to Face with History

Come Face to Face with History, the companion booklet, offers the stories of each of our selected history makers. Come Face to Face with History will be available at our museums, historical societies, and libraries, free to all County residents during the centennial year. These stories are also available on our “Our Stories” page.

3. this website:

cochise100.org allows you the opportunity to share your stories about friends, relatives, or favorite Cochise County History Makers not listed in Come Face to Face with History. Your stories may be added on the “Your Stories” page.

Cochise County History on the Move and Come Face to Face with History are certified Arizona Centennial Legacy projects.
